On September 22nd we saw a great MobileMonday Hamburg. It was second time that the momo hamburg community has met in one of Hamburg´s amazing museums - the Museum für Völkerkunde.
We had three really interesting speakers and if you didn’t come, you missed some very valuable learning about cutting edge technology and it´s integration into the online and mobile business models. To get an idea, you find their presentations available for download below this text.
Michael opened the evening by introducing us into smaato´s „in application advertising“ funded business. For developers worldwide this service is a great innovation, as it provides them a reasonable business model. Apple´s AppStore and Amazone´s AppStore for the new G1 show the potential of this funding idea. Smaato contributes an open platform to the market and bundles access to media performance networks on a global scale.
Next, we had Oliver Weiss, who is heading the Atlas Advertising Suite Head at Microsoft Advertising. Oliver gave use insights about their engagement mapping approach. This way of tracking campaigns is reshaping the understanding of online transactions. It´s technology is basically an AdServer based enhancement and allows advertisers to track results across different publishers. Resulting insights are a milestone for advertisers and online media agencies. Now they can evaluate campaigns much more precise and allocate budgets more efficient. However, the full transition to the mobile space is limited as mobile networks use proxies. Upcoming mobile advertiser circle will lower this barrier and enable mobile advertising to reach it´s full potential.
Another highlight was Nils Kohle, who introduced his amazing Crawler technology, that turns voice into text and thereby creates an index which can be used by enhanced search services. Nils´company Mediaclipping makes use of this by offering professional PR and marketing services. An even more astonishing service is ramped up since July and provides a self catering in speech search for audio and video. Check
www.spactor.com and try this yourself, but don´t miss to browse through Nils´ presentation first.
